About Char

Char Snyder-Jordan has been teaching swimming since 1965, when, as a young teenager, she started Char Snyder's Swim School in Orange County, CA. She hasn't stopped teaching since. With a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Brigham Young University (1980) and a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology (1984), she incorporates her years of education in Behavioral Psychology into her swim training to achieve maximum results for her students. She excels at working with students with special needs and physical handicaps.

She is a Level 3 member of the prestigious ASCA (American Swimming Coaches Association) and has been a Red Cross WSI (Water Safety Instructor) since she was 16 years old. In the past she has served as Stroke Technician and Behavioral Specialist for Fallbrook Associated Swim Team and was awarded the Best of Fallbrook Swimming Lessons in 2012. She has worked with amputees in the water at Shriner's Hospital in Honolulu and taught students to swim at the Deaf and Blind School, also in Honolulu.

She has been a resident of Fallbrook since 1989 and is delighted to now be teaching the children of some of her former students. Her life has been devoted to teaching people of all ages and circumstances to swim.
